Bison Sweep Bears, Move to 8-3 in MEAC Play

BALTIMORE, MD. - Howard out hit Morgan State 41-12 en route to a three-game sweep of the Bears on April 26-27 at Lois T. Murray Field in Baltimore, Md. HU improved to 16-15 (8-3 MEAC) with the victories while MSU fell to 12-17 (5-5 MEAC).

Senior Brianne Gutierrez (7-for-10, .694 BA) and freshman Emily Johnson (6-for-9, .750 BA) turned in good performances for the Bison during the three-game stretch.

It was a team effort as sophomore centerfielder Courtney Young (5-for-11, .454 BA, 2 HR) and juniors Jennifer Bien-Amie (5-for-12, .416 BA) and Kristina Cordova (4-for-11, .363 BA, 5 RBI) powered Howard to its sixth-straight conference win.

HU returns to action on Tuesday with a doubleheader against cross-town rival George Washington beginning at 3pm.
