FARMVILLE, VA. - Longwood swept Howard, 6-4 and 10-2, in a non-conference softball doubleheader Sunday afternoon at Lancer Field.

With the wins Longwood improves to 27-16 while Howard falls to 13-15.

In the opener, The Lancers scored two runs in the first inning before HU added a run in the second and three more in the fourth to take a 4-2 lead.

Longwood responded with three runs in the fifth and another in the sixth.

In the second game, the Lancers held a 15-9 advantage in hits and led 10-2 in RBI. Kristina Cordova and Jennifer Bien-Amie each finished 2-for-3 while freshman Jessica Norwood went a perfect 2-for-2 to go along with one run.

Howard will return to action on Thursday with a single game against Coppin State at 3 pm.
