Bison Eliminated From MEAC Championship
ORMOND BEACH, FLA. - North Carolina A&T needed extra frames but scored two runs in the eighth inning as NCAT went on to win 2-0 in the MEAC Championship on Friday.
With the loss, Howard is eliminated from the MEAC Championship and falls to 21-28 on the season, while the Aggies advance to a matchup versus Hampton and improve to 26-22.
The game was a tight-knit contest with neither team surrendering a run in seven innings of action. NCAT's Jennifer Luper gave up two hits total while Bison ace Carly Martin pitched a four-hitter.
Miscues proved costly for HU, however, as an overthrow to second base in attempt to throw out Lillian Bullock allowed Brittney Reddick to score for a 1-0 advantage.
Bullock moved to third on a wild pitch, which set up Bianca Alsobrook's groundout RBI for a 2-0 lead.
Courtney Young and Aisha Ledet each had a hit for Howard while Bullock went 2-for-3 for NCAT.
