WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Howard softball team heads down to Charleston, S.C. for the Cougar Classic, hosted by College of Charleston. The Lady Bison went 2-2 at the Tiny Laster HBCU Classic in Conyers, Ga. last weekend.

The 2009 Cougar Classic will be held Feb. 13-15 at Patriots Point Stadium in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina.

This year's tournament field features schools from six different conferences and states as the Cougars host Akron (Mid-American/Ohio), East Tennessee State (Atlantic Sun/Tennessee), Howard (Mid-Eastern Athletic/Washington, D.C.), James Madison (Colonial Athletic Association/Virginia) and Syracuse (Big East/New York). The College of Charleston is a member of the Southern Conference in South Carolina.
