Boxscore

DOVER, DEL. - Howard took down Delaware State, 7-2 to complete a season-sweep of the Hornets Thursday evening at the Hornets Nest. The Lady Bison improved to 7-4 in MEAC action with the win while DSU fell to 7-5 in league play.

Sophomore Emily Johnson gave HU a 2-0 lead after putting one over the left field fence in the third inning.

Sondra Jones' single spurred a four run fifth-inning for Howard. Trina Kindred singled and Courtney Young walked to load the bases with one run out. Johnson doubled in the next at bat to plate Jones and Kindred.

Carly Martin's single, combined with a DSU fielding error, sent Johnson and Young across the plate for the 6-0 Bison lead.

The Hornets scored two runs in the sixth but would not get any closer, as Howard plated an insurance run in the bottom of the inning.

The Lady Bison host Maryland Eastern Shore this weekend in a three-game series against the Hawks at Banneker Stadium.
