GREENSBORO, N.C. - The men's and women's swimming and diving teams took home numerous first place finishes at the HBCU Championships on Feb 2-3.

The Women's 200 yard medley relay team A (Alyssa Armstrong, Aminah Murphy, Khalilah Robinson, Nzinga Murphy) began the day with a second place finish in 1:56.02.

Polo Edwards took home two wins in the 1000 yard freestyle (12:17.54) and the 500 yard Freestyle (5:56.62), while Robinson placed second in the 50 yard freestyle (27.07). 

Murphy was also victorious, placing first in the 100 yard butterfly (1:03.17) and the 100 yard freestyle (58.77). Alyssa Armstrong was the runner up in the 100 yard backstroke in 1:08.00.

For the men, the 200 yard medley relay team A (Tyrone Dash, Orellana Miguel, Jules Graham, Isaiah Allen) took a first place finish in 1:43.44. Allen also led with a first place finish in the 200 yard freestyle (1:58.21) as well as the 100 yard freestyle (51.30).

Graham had a good showing for the men, placing second in both the 50 yard freestyle (22.60) and the 100 yard butterfly (54.68). Orellana had two first place finishes in the 200 yard IM (2:03.41) and the 100 yard breaststroke (1:04.21).

Tyrone Dash (1:03.47) and Kevin MacIntyre (1:05.55) took a respectable second and third place finish in the 100 yard backstroke, and James Washington was the runner up in the 500 yard freestyle (6:59.78)

The 200 yard freestyle relay team A (Dash, MacIntyre, Justin Morrison, Omar McKenzie) ended the day with a second place finish in 1:43.52.

Howard will wrap up its season on Feb. 21 at the Coastal Collegiate (CCSA) Championships in Huntersville, NC.
