CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Howard junior Nzingha Murphy (Atlanta, Ga./North Atlanta H.S.) was selected as the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association (CCSA) Women's Swimmer of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday.

Murphy tallied one individual first-place finish and one relay first-place finish in Howard's meet verses American last week.  She won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53.65 and helped the Lady Bison to a first-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay in 1:52.78.

This is the first time this season that Murphy has earned Swimmer of the Week honors.

Howard is off for a few weeks before returning to action on Jan. 13 in a duel meet versus Georgia Tech and George Washington.
