Howard Swimmer Awarded Post-Graduate Scholarship
Howard University swimmer Milton Dickerson has been named the
recipient of the 2006 Mid-
Eastern Athletic Conference postgraduate scholarship. The
scholarship was approved in 2000 by the MEAC Delegate Assembly as a
way of honoring student athletes for outstanding performance both
academically and athletically.
Dickerson, a physical therapy major who will receive $5,000 toward postgraduate educational expenses, distinguished himself in the pool and in the classroom during his four-year tenure as a student athlete at Howard. He was selected based on an overall undergraduate minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.00, distinction as a member of a varsity team, leadership qualities and service in volunteer community services.
Dickerson becomes the second student athlete from Howard to be honored. Crystal Amedee, a former member of the volleyball team, received the award last year.
