Howard Men’s Swimming and Diving Team Shines in NEC Championships

NEC Championship Results 

The Howard University men’s swimming and diving teams put on an outstanding performance during last weekend’s Northeast Conference Swimming and Diving championships.
Shaun Armstrong captured the 200-yard individual medley, the 100-yard breaststroke and the 200-yard breaststroke.  Teammates Todd Johnson, Isaiah Allen and Joshwin Hall were equally impressive.

Johnson won the 100-yard butterfly and the 200-yard butterfly;  Allen won the 200-yard freestyle and the 50yard freestyle;  and Hall took both the 100- and 200-yard backstroke events.

Harvey Ramon placed fourth in the 100-yard butterfly for good measure as the Bison captured third place.  Allen received dual honors by being named NEC Rookie of the Meet as well as Meet Co-Outstanding swimmer along with Armstrong.

Howard also won the 200-yard freestyle, the 400-yard medley relay and the 200-yard medley relay.

The Howard women came in seventh and were led Nzingha Murphy, who finished third in the 100-yard freestyle, Nadya Nicholas, who placed fourth in the 100-yard butterfly.  The 200-yard freestyle relay placed third and the 200-yard medley relay placed fourth.
