Campbell, Georgia Southern Bests Howard at Dual Meet

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Campbell and Georgia Southern bested the Howard women's swimming team in a dual meet Saturday afternoon at Buies Creek, North Carolina. The Camels took down the Bison 138-54 while the Eagles dropped HU 157-41. Howard fell to 0-4 (0-3 CCSA) with the two losses.

Nzingha Murphy won the 100 yard freestyle in 54.88 and was the only Bison to take a first place finish at the meet. Alyssa Armstrong was sixth in the same event in 58.48.

Polo Edwards took home a pair of fourth place finishes in the 1000 yard freestyle (11:26.99) and the 500 yard freestyle (5:31.49).

Khalilah Robinson was fourth in the 50 yard freestyle in 25.94 while Aminah Murphy took fifth in the 200 yard individual medley in 2:22.92.

In the 100 yard backstroke, Ashley Hairston paced Howard with a fifth place finish in 1:06.71 while teammate Uchechukwuka Monu was seventh in 1:10.34. Hairston placed sixth in the 200 yard freestyle in 2:07.68 and Monu was eighth in 2:12.63.

Jessica Freeland took home a pair of seventh place finishes in the 100 yard butterfly (1:08.79) and the 100 yard breaststroke (1:17.99).

The Bison will next travel to Emmitsburg, Md. for a dual meet against Mount St. Mary's and NJIT on Saturday, Nov. 3.
