Men's Swim Squad Picks Up First Win of the Season
EMMITSBURG, MD. - The Bison men's swimming team picked up its first win of the season this weekend after downing NJIT, 94-73 in a duel meet at Mount St. Mary's on Saturday.
Howard won seven of its 10 events to improve to 1-2.
Isaiah Allen and Kevin MacIntyre finished first and second in the men's 200 meter free in 2:07.13 and 2:20.52, respectively. Tyrone Dash (26.11) and Justin Morrison (29.12) took home first and third place finishes in the 50 meter free and Miguel Orellana won the 200 meter IM in 2:13.18, beating the second place finisher by over 40 seconds.
Allen paced a 1-2-6 finish for the Bison in the 100 meter free. The Texas native won the event in 55.56 while Charles Canady was the runner up in 57.66. James Washington took sixth for HU in 1:12.63.
Orellana also won the 100 meter back in 1:03.24 while Canady took first in the 100 meter breast in 1:13.26. Omar McKenzie was third in the same event in 1:25.94.
The Bison are off for two weeks, next returning to action on Nov. 16 at the Davidson Invitational.
