Bison Fall to Tigers

In their first dual meet of 2013 and fresh from their journey to Ft. Myers, Florida, the Howard Bison traveled to Towson, Maryland to take on the Towson University Tigers.  Celebrating their Senior Day, the Tigers jumped out to an early lead and stayed ahead for the entirety of the contest.  Towson defeated the Bison Men 206-64 with the Lady Bison falling to the Lady Tigers, 215-53.
 
Sophomore Trent Popovich (Morro Bay, CA) and senior Zadok Isaacs (Cantaro Village, Trinidad and Tobago) both earned second place finishes for Howard.  Popovich swam very well in the 100 backstroke, finishing with a time of 56.09.  Isaacs narrowly missed first place in the 100 freestyle, but wound up with a second place time of 48.28.
 
Junior Darell Hungerford (Clinton, MD) notched a third place finish in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:02.52.  Two Bison earned fourth place honors in the 500 freestyle.  Sophomore Miles Hector (Omaha, NE) swam an excellent race en route to his fourth place time of 5:01.08.  Senior E'lan Brewer (Lansing, MI) swam the best race for the ladies.  Her 500 free time of 5:46.16 was her fastest in the month of January of her career.
 
The Bison will travel to Williamsburg, Virginia this upcoming weekend to face the College of William & Mary.  The meet will be on Saturday, January 12 at 1PM.
