The Howard University swimming program finished their dual meet season on Saturday, February 2nd competing against some of the best talent the CCSA showcases. Traveling to Davidson College, the trip was highlighted by the Lady Bison coming away with their third victory of the season against the North Carolina A&T Lady Aggies, 162-82.

Bison Men Blitz By Marymount
For the first time in recent history, the Howard Bison traveled to Marymount University for a showdown with the Saints. On their Senior Day, the Howard men blew away the hosts with a 123-70. The Lady Bison fell to the Lady Saints 123-78.

Bison Fall to Tigers
In their first dual meet of 2013 and fresh from their journey to Ft. Myers, Florida, the Howard Bison traveled to Towson, Maryland to take on the Towson University Tigers. Celebrating their Senior Day, the Tigers jumped out to an early lead and stayed ahead for the entirety of the contest. Towson defeated the Bison Men 206-64 with the Lady Bison falling to the Lady Tigers, 215-53.

Sophomore Briana Dillon (Katy, TX) and senior Zadok Isaacs (Cantaro Village, Trinidad & Tobago) each earned the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association Swimmer of the Week honors, as it was announced on December 12.

Bison Men, Women Earn Determined Victories over Cardinals
Traveling across the northwest part of the District, the Howard Bison swimmers went to work against the host Georgetown Hoyas as well as the Catholic University of America Cardinals on Saturday afternoon. It marked the first time Howard competed against Georgetown in three seasons, but it renewed the rivalry with Catholic that had been in place for the last decade.

Bison Electrify Burr with Win over Keydets
From the opening race through the final relay, the Bison swimmers demonstrated a great deal of skill on fortitude in the CCSA conference competition against visiting Virginia Military Institute. The Lady Bison were anchored by a number of outstanding performances and rolled to a 156-93 victory over the Lady Keydets.

Through the first two days of competition, the Howard Bison swimmers have posted numerous season-best swims against some of the finest competition on the East Coast. The men currently sit in eighth place and the women are in tenth place headed into the final day of events.

Retrievers Take Two Meets, Bison Better 20 Times
Saturday afternoon featured the Howard University women's and men's swimming program travel to UMBC for their meeting with the accomplished Retrievers. The Bison came away with 20 season-best swims on the afternoon, 10 each for the women and the men, including nine Top-3 finishes against the home squad. The Navy and White, though, fell on both sides of the docket, with the men’s team being handled by the Retrievers 127-111. The Lady Bison lost to the Lady Retrievers by a score of 125-104.

Howard Scores Nine Victories in NW D.C. Battle at American
The Bison swimmers traveled to American University on Saturday afternoon to renew their annual rivalry with fellow District tenant, American University. Howard swam very well, scoring a season-high nine team victories along with four swims earning a place in the all-time top 10 list. The final team scores had the men falling to the host Eagles 175-76 while American recorded a 159-84 victory in the women's competition.

BISON SWIMMING OPENS SEASON AT MARY WASHINGTON
To commence the 2012-13 competitive season, the Bison of Howard Swimming traveled south to Fredericksburg, Va. to face the Eagles of Mary Washington. With a strong attack, the Bison were able to take a combined five races between the men's and women's teams. In the end, the host Eagles took both matches from the Bison with the Lady Bison falling 158-76, and the Howard mean losing 169-75.

With seven premier universities gathered in Davidson, NC, the Howard Bison competed in their final regular season meet of 2011-2012. The Lady Bison faced off against Campbell, Georgia Southern, Liberty, North Carolina A&T, Radford and host Davidson. With a number of great swims, the Lady Bison took down NC A&T by a score of 133-84. The Howard women dropped each of the other five scored match-ups.

The Bison of Howard Swimming made the trip north on I-95 through the icy conditions to renew their rivalry with the Drexel University Dragons. Despite numerous top-10 times and dozens of season-best swims, the host Dragons used their depth and power to take down the men's and women's teams from DC. The Lady Bison fell to Drexel 171-56 and the Bison men lost to the Dragons 224-59

Bison Host UMBC on Senior Day
On Saturday afternoon, the Bison of Howard Swimming hosted the UMBC Retrievers to open their spring dual meet season. The competition was highlighted by the celebration of the Bison's two seniors, Lauren Anthony and Steven Lott. UMBC's talent and depth were too much for the Bison squads as the men fell to UMBC 119.5 - 108.5 and the Lady Retrievers took down the Lady Bison 123-103.

HU Swimmers Close Fall Season with Great Showing versus American
Fifteen hours after notching a win against Catholic, the Howard University swimming team was back in the pool against another DC rival. Saturday afternoon, the Bison swimmers rekindled their battle with the American University Eagles in their second home meet of the season. The Bison mustered six victories against the Eagles, but American was too much to handle. The AU men defeated Howard 137-65 while the women's team fell to the Lady Eagles 117-75.

December 2, 2011 - The Howard Bison Men's and Women's Swimming team made a quick drive down Michigan Avenue to renew their rivalry with Catholic University of America. With a number of season-best and HU Top-10 swims, the Bison men took down the Cardinals, 145-116. The Bison women notched three first-place victories, but fell to the Lady Cardinals, 141.5-107.5.

Hector Sets Record on Day Three of Patriot Invitational
November 19, 2011 - After the third day of action at the George Mason Patriot Invitational, the Howard Bison compiled numerous season and personal bests to their resumes, carved 18 new additions to the schools Top-10 performance list, and destroyed one school record. The three-day competition concluded on Saturday evening with both the Bison men and women's teams finishing eighth overall against a premier, East Coast-laden field.

November 12, 2011 - On Saturday afternoon, the Howard University Bison welcomed the Loyola University Maryland Greyhounds to Burr Gymnasium for their first home meet of the 2011-2012 season. Swimming their best meet of the fall season, the Bison men and women recorded 24 season best swims, 11 Top-10 swims in Howard's history and five team victories.

October 29, 2011 - The Howard University Swimming and Diving team traveled to Lexington, Virginia to the campus of Virginia Military Institute for a clash against VMI and North Carolina A&T. Led by outstanding performance from a trio of young women, the Lady Bison recorded their first two victories of the year, a 137-81 victory over host VMI and a 132.5-110.5 triumph over fellow HBCU North Carolina A&T.

HU Posts Season Best Marks Against Monarchs
October 15, 2011 - Following their meet in Williamsburg on Friday night, the Howard Bison Swimmers traveled down 64 East to Old Dominion University to take-on the Monarchs for a Saturday morning clash with the Monarchs. ODU, competing in the Colonial Athletic Association, had too much firepower for the Bison to withstand. The women's team fell to the Lady Monarchs 126-61 while the ODU men defeated the HU men 142-50.

October 14, 2011 - The Howard University Bison swimmers began their weekend on the Tidewater Friday evening against the College of William and Mary. With talented depth in all disciplines, the Tribe notched two team victories over the Bison, 186-69 on the women's side and 176-79 for the men's squad.

The afternoon saw the Bison swim 19 season-best swims, a great feat for a non-championship meet this late in the season.

This intense, 14-day grind came to a head on Saturday when the Bison traveled to Philadelphia to face the Drexel Dragons and the UMBC Retrievers.

Goins Takes Second CCSA Honor
Ashley Goins continues to make a name for herself in history books of Howard Bison Swimming and Diving. For the second time in less than a month, the stellar senior from Silver Spring, Maryland was honored with the Coastal Collegiate Athletic Association Women's Diver of the Week for November 29 - December 5. Never before in Howard's history has a diver won the CCSA Diver of the Week honors and now the University can boast of having claimed it twice.

Bison Women Notch Victory Over VMI; Men Take Five Races
On a terrific Senior Day at Burr Gymnasium, the Howard Bison Swimming and Diving team hosted VMI and Catholic University while honoring their tremendous senior class. As the team continues to gain speed and confidence going forward into the winter months, Howard earned the most individual victories for their season on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Bison picked up their first team victory of the year as they beat the VMI Keydets, 129-30. Catholic University took both matches against Howard, a 110-98 decision against the Lady Bison and a 118-84 win against the men. The Howard men also dropped their contest to VMI, a 123-76 shortcoming.

Ashley Goins named CCSA Diver of the Week
Senior Ashley Goins (Silver Spring, MD) was announced as Women's Diver of the Week in the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association for November 8-14. This marks the first time in over 15 years that a Howard University diver received any athletic honor and the first Diver of the Week recipient by a member of the Bison since the conference's first existence in 2007.

Bison Continue Success at Loyola; Goins, Andrews Duo Shine Again against Greyhounds, Mountaineers
Senior Ashley Goins (Silver Spring, MD) and sophomore Chelsea Andrews (Glenside, PA) notched two impressive victories for the Howard University Swimming and Diving teams on Saturday. Traveling to Baltimore to face Loyola and Mount Saint Mary's, the Bison swam some of the their best times of the season, capped by some great all-around performances by Goins and Andrews. The Bison women's team fell to Loyola 164-112 and to Mt. St. Mary's 148-117. The Bison men's team lost to the Greyhounds 189-74.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Howard University Swimming and Diving teams made a quick visit to American University on Saturday afternoon to face the Eagles on their Senior Day. The Bison displayed some excellent performances and continue to ascent on the conference rankings. The final tallies, though, had the women's team narrowly falling to the Eagles, 116-107 and the men's team dropping their contest 153-52.

Bison Open Dual Meet Season Against Eagles, Tribe
The Howard University Swimming and Diving teams traveled to the University of Mary Washington to take on the host Eagles and the College of William and Mary Tribe on Saturday afternoon. On the strength of two very impressive relays and a handful of commendable individual efforts, the Bison put-up a solid showing against the Eagles and the Tribe, but were overmatched on the final scoreboard. The women lost to William and Mary 192-62 and to Mary Washington 201-55 while the men came up short to the Tribe, 197-53, and to the Eagles, 197-56.

WASHINGTON, DC - The Howard University Bison opened their season in the water on Friday by traveling to American University for the Potomac Relay Invitational. Rogers Sparkles for Bison Against Hoyas
In the team's final tune-up before their most significant meet of the season, the Howard Bison women's and men's swimming and diving teams braved the snow and hills of Northwest DC to face the Georgetown Hoyas on Saturday afternoon. The Bison continue to make their way towards season-best swims, but the Hoyas proved too much for Howard to handle. Georgetown took care of both meets by winning the women's contest 106-81 and the men's 110-101.

With enthusiasm resonating throughout the pool, the Howard Bison celebrated Senior Day by putting on an excellent show in the water. Hosting Mt. St. Mary's, St. Peter's and VMI for their lone home meet of the season, the Bison recorded many personal best times with the women's squad notching their first victory of the season, a 146-48 win over VMI.

The Bison continue to impress in the water, but the Colonials depth proved to be too much for the visitors as the men fell 91-78 with the women dropping the contest 91-71.

Against two large, formidable opponents, the Howard Bison fought a tough battle against the Drexel Dragons and the host UMBC Retrievers on Saturday afternoon. The tri-meet saw the Bison women fall to the Retrievers 124-87 and the men being taken down, 108-79. Drexel proved triumphant, as well, defeating the Bison 113 - 66 and 119-65 for the women and the men, respectively.

The women, who took six of 11 events, fell short to Catholic by a score of 125-70.
