Carter and McNary Qualify for Finals the MEAC Outdoor Championships
Greensboro, NC-Senior LaClaire Carter and sophomore Lauren McNary each qualified for the finals at the 2006 MEAC Outdoor Track Championship.
Carter, who recorded the second fastest qualifying time in the 100 meter dash, ran an 11.91 to win her heat.
McNary who had qualified for the East Regional in the 400 meter three weeks ago, bettered her time of 54.04 and finished first with a season best time of 53.47. Her qualifying time moves her up to 5th in the Eastern Region.
Both finals are set to pop off tomorrow afternoon. The 400 meter finals are set for at 3 p.m. followed shortly by the 100 meter dash final at 3:20 p.m.
Note: Carter will also compete in the long jump finals tomorrow. She is ranked 12th in the East Region with a jump of 6.21 meters
