Carter, McNary Stand Out as Howard
Women Place Fourth; Men Finish
10th 2006 MEAC Indoor Track Results LaClaire Carter continued to make her presence felt during the
Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field
Championships. Carter, who has already qualified for the USA
Indoor Track and Field championships in Boston, MA later this
month, captured the long jump, placed third in the 60-meter dash
and fourth in the 200-meter dash. Teammate Lauren McNary won the 400-meter run and qualified for
the USA Track and Field Championships in the process. Tasha Harris placed sixth in the mile run, Alyssa Johnson placed
fifth in the 60-meter hurdles and the women’s distance medley
team finished third. The men were led by Khary Kenyatta, who placed third in the 800-meter run, Daniel Kinney, who placed fourth in the 60-meter hurdles and the distance medley team, which finished second in that event. Note: Despite not having any indoor eligibilty remaining to compete at Howard, Jacoby DuBose, who will compete during the outdoor season, will compete unattached in the 60 meter hurdles in the USA Indoor Track and Field championships.
