Howard Women Do Well on First Day of Penn Relays Philadelphia, PA-The Howard University women's track team had a good showing on the first day of the 2006 Penn Relays hosted by the University of Pennsylvania. Individually, senior LaClaire Carter finished 6th in the long jump with a jump of 6.12 meters (20'01.00). On the team side, the women's 4x400 relay won its heat. The team consisting of LaClaire Carter, Alyssa Johnson, Lillian Daniels and Lauren McNary ran 3:49.66. The Lady Bison defeated UMBC, Temple, Duquesne, Maine and Southern Connecticut State to win its heat. The men's competition is set to begin today.
