BLACKSBURG, VA. - Howard took home five top-10 finishes at the Virginia Tech Invitational on Jan. 11-12 at Rector Field House in Blacksburg, Va.

Ashley Hodges led the way with her first place finish in the 800m run in 2:18.30, beating out opponents from Maryland, George Mason, Wake Forest and James Madison. Brittany Hodges took 16th in the same event in 2:31.42.

Landria Buckey was fifth (25.13) in the 200m dash while Alexandra Lemonious took home a sixth-place finish in the long jump after leaping 5.68m (18-07.75 feet).

In other events, Tamila Myles finished the mile run in 6:01.22 and Charrisse Bullock crossed the line in the same event in 6:20.96. Latayvia Jackson was 37th in the 200m dash (27.30).

On the men's side, Daniel Kinney placed fifth in the 55m hurdles in 7.46 while Richard Williams took eighth in the 800m run (1:57.97). Thurman Sanders was 11th in the mile after crossing the line in 4:25.37 while the men's 4x400m relay team took home an 11th place finish in 3:22.55.   

Sanders also placed 24th in the 800m run (2:05.40) and Andre Williams finished the 1000m run in 2:51.58.

Howard returns to action on Jan. 19 at the Maryland Invitational in Landover, Md.
