LANDOVER, MD. - The Howard men's and women's track and field teams performed well and took home four first place finishes at the HBCU Invitational on Feb. 2 at Prince George's Sports & Learning Complex in Landover, Md.

The Women's Distance Medley Team A (Lillian Daniels, Ashley Hodges, Latayvia Jackson, Tamila Myles) began the day with a first place finish in 12:44.47. Landria Buckley also led the way, finishing first in the 60m hurdles run (8.52), while Alexandria Lemonious trailed close behind with a third place finish (8.80).

Ashley Hodges succeeded with a first place finish in the 800m run in 2:24.04, while Jessica Neal (2:30.96) and Brittany Jackson (2:32.38) finished in seventh and ninth place. Brittany Stephens placed third in the 500m run in 1:20.24 and Charisse Bullock took a third place finish in the 1m run (5:55.72).

 The 4x400m Relay Team A concluded the women's events with a first place finish (3.58.59).

On the men's side, the Distance Medley Team A (George Christopher, Thurman Sanders, Andre Williams, Richard Williams) finished third in 10:50.12. Daniel Kinney took home a second place finish in the 60m hurdles run in 8.15. Both Tochi Odocha (23.14) and Brandon Carter (23.41) secured top ten finishes in the 200m dash.

Sanders placed fourth in the 800m run in 2:02.15, while Kinney finished third in the 400m dash in 50.50. Kimery Williams (1:07.85) and Richard Williams (1:09.56) finished in second and third place in the 500m run.

The 4x400m Relay Team A (Carter, Christopher, Kinney, Andre Williams) had a good run as well, taking home a third place finish in 3:25.46.

Howard will return to action on February 9 at the Vince Brown Invitational in Newport News, Va.
