Jan 19, 2008Buckley Wins 60m Hurdles at Terrapin InviteLANDOVER, MD. - Landria Buckley won the women's 60m hurdles during competition at the Terrapin Invitational, hosted by Maryland, on Jan. 19 at the Wayne Curry Sports and Learning Center. The sophomore won her event in 8.69. Alexandria Lemonious fared well in the long jump with a sixth-place leap of 5.39m (17-07.50 feet) and Ashley Hodges took home a pair of top 10 wins in the mile run (9th in 5:11.99) and the 800m run (10th in 2:23.82). Jessica Neal finished the mile in 5:40.00 and the 3000m run in 11:41.95, while Lillian Daniels crossed the 400m dash line in 1:03.20. Nomi-Kaie Bennett fared well in the 200m dash after finishing her event in 23.07. On the men's side, Stephen Small-Warner took third in the long jump after leaping 7.10m (23-03.50 feet) and Daniel Kinney placed fifth in the finals of the 60m hurdles in 8.10. Richard Williams (1:58.95) and Thurman Sanders (2:00.39) finished fourth and ninth, respectively, in the 800m run. Brandon Carter had a good outing as well, taking home a pair of top 10 finishes in the 60m dash (7.03) and the 200m dash (23.07). Howard returns to action this weekend at the Penn State National Open on Jan. 25-26 in State College, Pa.
