WASHINGTON, D.C. - Howard University 2004 Graduate David Oliver had a notable performance at the 2008 USA Track and Field (USATF) Indoor Championships on Sunday February 24 at The Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center at Roxbury Community College in Boston, Massachusetts.

Oliver won his first AT&T men's 60m hurdles national title in 7.47 seconds, placing in front of the three-time World Indoor champion Allen Johnson. Oliver's time marks a new personal best and is the fastest time by an American this year.

Oliver's outstanding performance qualified him for the 2008 World Indoor Championships, which took place March 7-9 in Valencia, Spain. Oliver took first place in the fifth heat in 7.59, which qualified him for the semifinal. His final time was 7.65 in the semifinal and he missed the qualifying time by two hundreds of a second.
