Wilmington, N.C. - Howard's women's and men's team won several events during competition at the UNC Wilmington Seahawk Invitational on March 14-15 in Wilmington, N.C. 

On the women's side, Latayvia Jackson finished 14^th in the 100m dash finals in 13.29, while Tyesha Irving crossed the line in 13.69. Brittany Stephens finished 15^th in the 200m dash in 26.55, while Jackson finished in 27.69. Stephens also had a good outing in the 400m run, taking a seventh place finish in 59.71.

Ashley Hodges took first in the 800m run in 2:17.90, while Tamila Myles (2:25.78) and Jackson (2:29.27) finished in fifth and eighth respectively. Hodges also took home a first place finish in the 1500m run in 4:46.21.

Landria Buckley had a good showing, finishing first in the 100m hurdles in 14.22, while Alex Lemonious finished fourth in 14.94. Buckley (1:05.88) and Lemonious (1:08.86) took fourth and seventh place finishes in the 400m hurdles, while Lillian Daniels (1:09.43) and Janelle Wallace (1:10.80) followed behind in 8^th and 10^th.

The 4x400 relay team A (Lemonious, Buckley, Hodges, and Stephens) took first in 3:57.38.

On the men's side, Anthony Penny (11.40) and Tochi Odocha (11.43) finished 13^th and 16^th in the 100m dash. Penny finished 14^th in the 200m dash, while Tochi finished in 23.12.

Mikael LaRoche took a seventh place finish in the 400m dash in 49.88, and Kimery Williams finished 10^th in 51.25.  Richard Williams had a good showing for the Bison, taking home a first place finish in the 800m run in 1:55.58. Daniel Kinney finished fourth in the same event in 1:59.57.

Thurman Sanders fared well in the 1500m run, placing third in 4:02.16 and Michael Kendall went


on to finish eighth in the 400m hurdles in 1:05.70.

The 4x400m relay team (LaRoche, Williams, Kinney, and Brandon Carter) took first in 3:18.14.
