Howard Falls to Georgetown in Three

Washington, DC---The Howard women's volleyball team fell to cross-town rivals Georgetown, 3-0, in their second match of the Georgetown Invitational.

In game one, the Lady Bison (1-5), started very sluggish but picked up their game quickly to pull within one point, 10-9.  The two teams exchanged points for a short period before the Hoyas (4-4), took control of the game winning the last 14-of-17 points to take game one 30-15.

The Lady Bison showed a little more desire in game three of the match keeping the Hoyas within striking distance.  The Bison would come as close as 21-23 but could not muster up anymore steam as the Hoyas closed out game three on a seven to one run to win game three, 30-22.

Janel James and Morgan Maxwell each recorded seven kills to lead the Lady Bison.  Jenica Leonard led the way on defense with 11 digs.

Jessica Buffum led the Hoyas with nine kills.

The Bison will face Campbell at 5 p.m. today.
