James and Strode Lead Howard in its First Conference Win Dover, DE-The Howard University women's volleyball team defeated Delaware State University, 3-1, (30-25, 21-30, 30-23, 30-27), to stop a four game losing streak and pick up its first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) victory of the season. Howard, (4-11, 1-2 MEAC), set the tone early in the match going up by as many as eight before eventually winning Game One 30-25. The Lady Hornets, (2-17, 0-2 MEAC), capitalized on some crucial

Howard to just 21 points in the game, winning 21-30. The Lady Bison quickly regained the momentum winning Games Three and Four, 30-23 and 30-27. Janel James and Brooke Strode contributed 17 kills each in the victory. James also led the way defensively for the Lady Bison with 14 digs, 1 block solo and 1 block assist.
