DOVER, DEL. - The Lady Bison volleyball team fell to Delaware State 3-0 (30-24, 40-38, 30-16) in its final regular season match Thursday night at Memorial Hall. The win gives DSU a season sweep of Howard, who lost a 3-1 decision against the Hornets on Oct. 18. The Bison were led by Elyssa Lee, Janel James and Morgan Maxwell who each had eight kills apiece, while Monique McCoy recorded a team high 10 digs. Gazelle d'Artois paced the team with a match high 27 assists.

After losing game one, Howard were able to rally back from a five point deficit to tie the game at 25 in the second stanza. Delaware State fought back and won game two, 40-38 and the match 3-0.

The Lady Hornets were led by Sarah Wheatcoft and Ayana Dyette who both recorded double-doubles. Wheatcoft finished with 12 kills and 24 assists while Dyette contributed 11 kills and 10 digs. Cassandra Joyner added 12 kills for DSU.

The Lady Bison finish the regular season with a record of 5-26 (4-6 MEAC). They will next be in action on Nov. 16-17 at the MEAC Championships where they will face the number one team in the MEAC South Division.
