NEWARK, N.J. - Sacred Heart downed Howard 3-1 (30-26, 20-30, 30-11, 32-30) in a non-conference volleyball decision Friday afternoon at the NJIT Halloween Invitational.

The Lady Bison (5-23) held the Pioneers to a negative hitting percentage (-.057) in its game two win. Howard also picked up a season high 30 block assists while sophomore Kimberly Watson had 11 block assists, more than the entire SHU team.

Elyssa Lee finished with a team-high nine kills for the Bison. Janel James chipped in 17 digs defensively while Monique McCoy and Nicole Brown finished with 16 and 10, respectively. Keri Partridge served up a match-high five aces.

Christine Duffy paced Sacred Heart (9-13) with 17 kills.  Christine Siapale added a double-double of 13 kills to go along with a match-high 25 digs.

Howard returns to action tomorrow with a 10am match against the host Highlanders. The Lady Bison wraps up play at the Invite with a 2pm non-conference contest against Providence.
