FAIRFAX, VA. - The Lady Bison volleyball team dropped a pair of matches at the Brion's Grille Patriot Invitational on Saturday. Howard fell 3-0 (30-16, 30-19, 30-19) in its opening match to George Mason and was edged, 3-2 (21-30, 28-30, 30-15, 30-20, 15-6) by Lehigh in its second decision of the day.

HU (0-6) held a two-game lead over the Mountain Hawks before Lehigh (1-5) won three straight to take the match.  Gazelle d'Artois paced the Bison with a double-double of 11 kills and 11 digs while junior Elyssa Lee tied the match high in kills with 13. Keri Patridge and Janel James added 11 kills each and Monique Morgan chipped in with a match-high 15 kills. Morgan Maxwell finished with 42 set-assists.

Brittany Thurston had 13 kills for Lehigh while Mo McReynolds finished with 12.

The Lady Bison got seven kills and eight digs from d'Artois in the loss to the host Patriots (4-2). Maxwell added a double-double of 20 assists and 10 digs. McCoy and James chipped in with seven digs on the defensive end.

Howard will try to get back on track on Tuesday when they host Georgetown at 7 pm in Burr Gymnasium.
