Navy takes down Howard in three

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Navy volleyball team took down Howard 3-0 (30-18, 30-25, 30-25) Tuesday night in a non-conference decision at Burr Gymnasium. It was the twelfth straight loss for the Bison while Navy improved to 10-4 on the season.

Senior Morgan Maxwell had a team-high 11 kills and eight digs in the loss. The Charlotte native also hit .385 in the match and added one service ace and one block assist. Elyssa Lee added six kills while Keri Partridge chipped in with five kills and a team-high three service aces.

The Lady Bison hit .239 as a team and out blocked the Mids 13-3.

Rachel Dougherty paced Navy with 13 kills. Jessie Sims finished with 11 kills and Alexa Gibbs added 10.

The Mids held a 36-29 advantage in digs and picked up 42 assists compared to 28 by Howard.

The Lady Bison will look for its first win this weekend at the Red Flash Invitational, hosted by St. Francis (PA) on Sept. 21-22.
