Lady Bison Fall in Season Opener

LYNCHBURG, VA. - The Howard volleyball team fell 3-0 (30-12, 30-11, 30-14) in a non-conference match to Liberty in its season opener Friday night at the Liberty Invitational.

The Lady Bison (0-1) got five kills apiece from Keri Partridge and Elyssa Lee. Janel James and Nia Moore contributed two kills each while Morgan Maxwell had a team-high 13 set-assists to go along with five digs.

The host Flames (1-0) got a double-double of 10 kills and 10 digs from Karyl Bacon. Kallie Corbin dished out a match-high 35 assists.

Howard tallied 14 kills as a team compared to 44 by the Lady Flames.

The Lady Bison resumes play at the Liberty Invitational tomorrow with a pair of matches against Evansville and Duquesne at 1pm and 3:30 pm, respectively.
