Howard Falls to Ball State Muncie, IN-Host Ball State ran past Howard, 47-92, in the first round of the Ball State Federal Credit Union Thanksgiving Tournament at Worthen Arena. Howard, (0-6), went down by 11 by the 16 minute mark, 11-0, but would quickly rebound going on a 13-4 run over the next five minutes to pull within two, 15-13. Ball State, (3-0), regain the momentum going on a 33-10 run to close out the half up by 22, 48-26. Ball State continued its dominance in the second half holding Howard to just eight field goals and 21 total points in the half. Ball State would take its lead to as much as 31mid-way through the half, 59-28, and eventually defeat Howard by 45, 47-92. Howard did not have any players to score in double-figures as Christina Aden led the team with nine points. Morgan Neal scored eight points and pulled in seven rebounds for Howard. Ball State had five players to score in double-figures led by Julie Demuth with 18. Kelsey Corbin (17), Tina Bolte (14), Lisa Rusche (13), Audrey McDonald (11) all recorded double-figures. Rusche led Ball State in rebounding with 11. Howard will face Coastal Carolina in the consolation game tomorrow at 1 p.m. The Lady Bison will open its home season on Tuesday, Nov. 28 when they host George Mason at 7 p.m. Game Notes: Howard's leading scorer Shannon Carlisle, who is playing near her hometown, was held scoreless for the first time this season...Howard shot 27 percent from field and 57 percent from the charity stripe...Ball State outscored Howard 37-14 in the paint.
