Howard Falls to #10 LSU Baton Rouge, LA-Host LSU used a first-half 22-7 run and 20-5 rebound advantage to defeat Howard, 44-88, at the Basketball Travelers Classic. The Lady Tiger's, (2-0), Sylvia Fowles scored 16 of her game
high 18 points in the first 10 minutes of the game. Howard,
(0-2), could not find much offense as they shot 8 for 26 from the
field for 26 percent including shooting a dismal 8 of 21 from
behind the arc. The Lady Bison found themselves down by 23 at the
half, 20-43. "It is difficult to contain her (Fowles) because she has great hands and finishes anything around the basket" said head coach Cathy Parson. "It was a good experience to play a team of this caliber and I feel for the most part that we did well in keeping our compuse." Christina Aden was the one bright spot for the Lady Bison as she scored a team-high 16 points while shooting 5-of-6 from the charity stripe. Shannon Carlisle and Morgan Neal each contributed eight points and five rebounds in the loss. The Lady Tigers had four players to score in double-figures, Quianna Chaney (12), Khalilah Mitchell (11), Mesha Williams (10), and Fowles.
