The Coaches
NC A&T is coached by Jerry Eaves (Louisville, ‘86), who is in his sixth season there.  Eaves formerly served as an assistant coach under Butch Bear at Howard from 1990-94.  Howard is coached by Gil Jackson (Elizabethtown College, '69), who is in his third season and has a 21-71 career record to date.  Prior to coming to the Hilltop, Jackson served as assistant coach at the University of Pennsylvania for 16 years.

Aggie Barks
The Aggies lead the MEAC in scoring offense (71.0), in field goal percentage (46 percent) and in defensive rebounding (24.89)...NC A&T is 2nd in three-pointers made per game (6.78) and is 3rd in three-point shooting as a team...Rush is 2nd in three pointers made and in free throw shooting and is 6th in scoring (15.4)...Ewing is 5th in free throw shooting (82 percent), 7th in three pointers made per game (2.15) and 9th in three-point shooting (36 percent)...Wills is 4th in rebounding (6.8) and 9th in assists (2.7)...Ed Jones is second in shooting (57 percent) and Thomas Coleman is 2nd in blocked shots (1.78).

Bison Hooves
The Bison have had 13 different starting lineups due to injuries...the team lost projected starting point guard and Chicago native Julius Hearn before the season started to a knee injury that required surgery...then both freshman forward Adam Walker and freshman guard Kyle Riley went down with injuries just before the season opener...they both returned in the third game only to have starting forward Randy Hampton suffer a concussion in the game against Hampton that caused him to miss seven games...and if that was not enough, starting point guard Jeron Smith suffered a knee injury following a dunk in the game against American University and leading scorer Eugene Myatt suffered a knee contusion in that same game, forcing them to miss two games...the recent victim of the injury epidemic is freshman guard Kyle Riley, who injured his back and has missed the last seven games and Smith, who missed the WSSU game with the flu...at one point, the Bison suited up only eight players...Myatt is 10th in the conference in scoring and 15th in field goal percentage (46 percent)...he leads the team in scoring, in three-point shooting, in assists and in minutes played...as a team, Howard is shooting only 29 percent from three-point range...Howard is on a pace to have one of its best seasons in recent years in blocked shots...the Bison, who rank 3rd in the conference in blocked shots,  currently average 4.0 per game...Walker, who is a strong candidate for the All-Rookie team, ranks 6th in blocked shots, tied for 4th in defensive rebounding and 12th in overall rebounding...Kirkpatrick is tied for 7th in blocked shots.

Next Up
The Aggies travel to Hampton, VA on Monday for a big showdown at 7:30 pm while the Bison close out the 2007-08 home season when they host Norfolk State University at 8 pm in Burr Gymnasium.  It will be Senior Night for Jeron Smith, who will be honored before the tipoff.
