FARMVILLE, VA. - Campbell rallied from a five-point first-half deficit to defeat Howard 75-74 on the final day of the Longwood Classic in Willett Hall on Saturday.

Shannon Carlisle led Howard (0-6) with 24 points, while Lonice Kenley had 13 and Asha Santee added 11.

Maggie Rich finished the game 4-of-9 for 16 points and led four Campbell (3-2) players in double figures. Marlena Murphy had 15 while Lauren Arthur and Ashley Williamson added 14 and 13.

Campbell used a big advantage from the free throw line as the Camels outscored the Bison 23-10 from the stripe. Campbell attempted 29 free throws, while HU attempted only 14.

The Lady Bison used a 12-4 run early in the first half to take a 20-12 lead with 11:18 remaining in the opening period. Carlisle, who scored 19 points in the second half, sparked the run with five points.

Campbell tied it up at 30 before Howard closed the first half on a 7-2 run and took a 37-32 halftime lead. 

The Camels jumped out of the gate in the second half with a 6-0 run and took a 38-37 advantage with 17:09 to play.

Neither team held more than a four-point lead over the next few minutes until a Lauren Arthur trey at 11:34 sparked an 11-5 Campbell run.

Zykia Brown scored seven points and spurred a 19-8 Bison run over the next 8:14. A lay-up by Reyna Gross gave Howard a 72-71 lead with :47 left in regulation.

Ashley Williamson scored a basket for the Camels before Lonice Kenley hit a clutch jumper with six seconds left to make it 74-73 in Howard's favor.

The Bison fouled Williamson as the clock expired and she hit both of her two free throws to seal the victory for the Camels.
