GREENSBORO, N.C.-Ta'Wuana Cook poured in a game-high 22 points to lead four players in double figures as North Carolina A&T defeated Howard in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference women's game at the Irvin-Corbett Sports Arena.  The win was the seventh straight for the streaking Lady Aggies (14-5 overall, 7-0 in the MEAC) while the Lady Bison (2-17 overall, 2-5) dropped their fifth straight.

North Carolina A&T started off slow as Howard jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the opening minutes. The Aggies responded with a 14-0 run and later took a 42-31 lead to the locker room.  With Howard struggling on offense, the Lady Aggies took advantage in the second half, taking advantage of Howard turnovers and scoring several baskets in transition.  Cook set the tone and then Brittanie Taylor-James (19 points), Nancy Rembert (16 points) and Amber Bland (15 points) followed her lead.

NC A&T shot 59 percent from the field in the second half and was credited with 20 assists on their 35 baskets.

The Lady Bison got another huge game from junior forward Tamaya Daniels, who recorded yet another double-double of 19 points and 14 rebounds.  Asha Santee also came up big for Howard with 21 points and 8 rebounds.  No other Lady Bison reached double figures.

GAME NOTES: The Lady Bison won the battle of the boards, 52-41 but it was offset by the 33 points that NC A&T got off 31 turnovers...Daniels has emerged as one of the top post players in the conference.

NEXT UP: Howard continues its road swing when it travels to Norfolk, VA on Monday to take on the struggling Lady Spartans of Norfolk State University.  NC A&T hosts Hampton University in an ESPNU showdown on Monday at 7 pm in Greensboro, NC.
