WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Howard women's basketball team opens up play at the Longwood Classic with a contest against the host Lancers on Friday, Nov. 16. The Lady Bison look to get started on the right foot before facing off with Campbell on day two of the tournament.

The Games

The Howard women's basketball team opens up play at the Longwood Classic with a contest against the host Lancers on Friday, Nov. 16. The young Bison, featuring seven freshmen, look to get started on the right foot before facing off with Campbell on day two of the tournament.

The Lady Bison, featuring seven freshmen on its active roster, fell 71-50 to Navy in its last time out. Seniors Shannon Carlisle and Asha Santee paced Howard with 13 and 12 points, respectively. The Midshipmen had four players score in double figures and were led by Cassie Consedine's 19 points.

Longwood fell 65-55 to St. Francis (PA) in its last decision on Nov. 13. Keiva Small was the only Lancer to score in double figures and finished with 13 points. Courtney Dyer and Cierra Baker chipped in eight points each.

Campbell, members of the Atlantic Sun Conference, fell by three points to UNC Wilmington in its last contest, 59-56. Maggie Rich had a team-high 14 points and Lauren Arthur added 10.

Longwood is 0-3 with losses to American, Virginia and St. Francis (PA). Keiva Small is averaging a team-high 13.0 points per game while Amber Sims is averaging 11.7 points per game for the Lancers. Odessa Williams averages 6.0 rebounds per game for Longwood while Small is tops on the team with 4.7 assists per game.  LU is coached by Kristin Caruso, who is in her first season at LU.

Scouting Campbell
The Camels (0-3) are paced by Maggie Rich's 13.0 points per game. Marlena Murphy and Lauren Arthur add 12.7 and 10.7 ppg each while Ashley Williamson is pulling down a team-high 6.7 rebounds per game. Campbell is coached by Wanda Watkins, who is in her 26^th season with the Camels. She has an overall record of 409-309 both as a head coach and at Campbell.
