Longwood Defeats Howard; Carlisle and Santee Score 24

FARMVILLE, VA. - Seniors Shannon Carlisle and Asha Santee each scored a game-high 24 points, but Longwood pulled away in the second half to defeat Howard 85-73 in the opening game of the Longwood Classic on Friday in Willett Hall.

Carlisle finished the game 8-of-18 from the floor, including 6-of-6 from the charity stripe. She also added eight steals and six assists, both game highs.

Santee shot 7-for-16 and pulled down six rebounds in the losing effort.

Tamaya Daniels joined Carlisle and Santee in double figure scoring with 16. The junior also finished with a game-high 11 rebounds.

Keiva Small led Longwood (1-3) with 22 points, while Odessa Williams had 20 and Cierra Baker scored 13.

The Lady Bison (0-5) committed 19 turnovers to LU's 26 and were out-rebounded 58-32 by the Lancers.

Howard will face Campbell on Saturday (Nov. 17) at 1 p.m. in its final game of the tournament.
