WACO, TEXAS - Four Bison scored in double-figures but it was not enough as Prairie View A&M topped Howard, 77-73 on day two of the Basketball Travelers Tip-Off Classic at the Ferrell Center.

Asha Santee led HU in scoring for the second straight contest and finished with 19 points on 7-11 shooting from the field. Reyna Gross added 14 points, six assists, five steals and four rebounds off the bench and Shannon Carlisle chipped in 13 points and five steals. Sophomore Charae Baulkman had 10 points and five rebounds and Tamaya Daniels pulled down a team-high 12 rebounds.

The Lady Panthers were paced by Candice Thomas' 22 points. Aminata Diaye added a double-double of 17 points, 17 rebounds to go along with seven blocks while Gaati Werema finished with 14 points.

Howard (0-2) took a three point lead at the break after a hot first half (14-26 FG, 53.8%), but poor shooting in the second period and foul trouble led to Prairie View taking a four point lead with 13:08 left. The Panthers pushed its lead to nine before the Bison tied things up at 7:15 on a lay-up by Carlisle.

Prairie View (1-1) made seven of nine free-throws to take a six-point lead with 3:10 left in regulation. Howard would get no closer than three after that.

The Lady Bison concludes play at the Classic on Sunday with a 1 pm matchup versus St. Mary's (CA).
