The Game
The Bison will hit the road for a two-game road trip
beginning with a matchup at William and Mary on Dec. 4. Howard is
coming off a pair of losses at the Robert Morris Thanksgiving
Tournament while the Tribe took down Butler in its last time out on
Nov. 29.
IUPUI defeated HU, 61-45 in the consolation game of the RMU Thanksgiving Classic. Sophomore Zykia Brown paced Howard with a team-high 15 points. Lonice Kenley chipped in eight points off the bench and Morgan Neal led the Bison in rebounds with six.
Against Butler, W&M got a double-double of 15 points and 13 rebounds from Tiffany Benson. Kelly Heath added 10 points and Katy Oblinger dished out seven assists.

Scouting William and
Mary
William and Mary is 4-2 with losses to Morgan State and
New Mexico. Tiffany Benson is averaging a team-high 10.8 points per
game while Dani Kell is not far behind with 10.7 points per game.
Benson is also tops on the team with 9.0 rebounds per
game.
W&M is coached by Debbie Taylor, who is in her 10th season with the Tribe. She has a 99-162 record at William and Mary and overall in 10 years as a head coach.
The Sparkplug
Howard freshman India Bradford
(Washington, D.C.) has provided quality minutes in backing
up sophomore Jalisa Pullins (Decatur, Ga.).
Bradford has shown a unique burst and ability to break down
opposing defenses. Against American, Bradford had 10 points and
three steals. She also knocked down three treys, her second
straight game with three field goals from beyond the arc. Bradford
has eight assists, second highest on the team behind 10 from Zykia
Brown.
Pounding
Pavement
Howard opens up its regular season with just three home games
before January. HU hosts Navy in its season opener on Nov. 16
before making the cross-town trek to American on Nov. 19. The Bison
play host to Central Michigan on Nov. 21 before traveling north to
face Robert Morris in the Robert Morris Thanksgiving Classic on
November 29-30. Howard will take on the host Highlanders on
November 29 before competing in a consolation/championship game on
November 30. IUPUI and Wright State are also competing in the
two-day tournament.
HU is on the road again at William and Mary on December 4 and takes on conference foe Hampton on December 6. The Bison travel to New York for a match-up at St. John's on December 16 before heading returning home to host George Mason on December 21. Howard wraps up the month of December with a road contest at Monmouth on December 29.
Bison Picked Ninth in the
MEAC
The Howard University women's basketball team has been picked to
finish ninth in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference's annual
preseason poll, as voted on by the League's Head Coaches and Sports
Information Directors. The announcement was made on October 15 in
Winston-Salem, N.C. as part of the 2008-09 Tip-Off Media Luncheon.
Howard received 92 points in the preseason poll. North Carolina
A&T was picked first as the Lady Aggies garnered 18 first-place
votes with 468 points. NCAT was followed by Delaware State (378
points) while Morgan State (364 points) rounds out the top three.
