GREENSBORO, N.C. - Zykia Brown had 25 points and Lonice Kenley added nine, but it was not enough as the Lady Bison fell to league leaders North Carolina A&T on Saturday at the Corbett Sports Center, 84-60.
NCAT led early and took a nine-point lead at 6:49. Howard scored five straight and cut the lead to four on baskets by Jasmine Lipford and Kenley.
The Aggies (21-6, 13-1 MEAC) closed the first half on an 8-2 run for a 40-30 lead. The Aggies jumped out of the second stanza and scored eight straight points, pushing the lead to 20 before Brown hit a pair of free-throws to end the drought at 15:48.
Lipford finished with six points and four rebounds for the Bison (6-21, 5-9 MEAC). Jalisa Pullins chipped in six points, three assists and two boards and Tamaya Daniels finished with five points.
Howard heads to Norfolk,
Va. to take on Norfolk State at 6 p.m. on Monday.
