Kenley Nets Career High in Loss to Rattlers

TALLAHASSEE, FLA. - Senior guard Lonice Kenley knocked down five 3-pointers and had a career-high 17 points, but it was not enough as Howard fell to Florida A&M, 69-53 Saturday evening at Gaither Gym.

Kenley had the game-high in 27 minutes off the bench. The Chesapeake, Va. native also added three rebounds and two assists.

Freshman Natalie Day added 16 points and five rebounds, and sophomore Zykia Brown chipped in 12 points.

Howard (0-13, 0-2 MEAC) was led defensively by senior Tamaya Daniels, who pulled down a team-high six rebounds.

FAMU (6-6, 2-0 MEAC) got 15 pionts and five assists from Deidra Jones. Tameka McKelton finished with a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds and Antonia Bennett contributed 10 points.

Qiana McDonald had 10 rebounds for the Lady Rattlers, who improved to 2-0 in conference play with the win.

HU continues its road trip on Monday with a matchup at Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Fla.
