Lady Bison Lose for First Time in Four Games

BALTIMORE, MD. - Howard's three game win streak ended Saturday as Morgan State raced past HU, 61-34 in a MEAC women's basketball decision at Hill Field House.

Howard trailed by seven at the break but the Lady Bears quickly pushed the lead into double digits, jumping out to a 16-5 run in the second half.

Morgan State (12-6, 4-2 MEAC) took its largest lead at 5:05 after a pair of free-throws by Aaries Reed gave MSU a 58-31 advantage.

HU (3-14, 2-3 MEAC) got a team-high 10 points from sophomore Zykia Brown. Classmate Jalisa Pullins added eight points, a career-high, to go along with four assists, three rebounds and two steals.

Natalie Day chipped in six points and seniors Jasmine Lipford and Evelena Cousin-Peterson contributed four points each.

The Lady Bison will try to rebound on Monday with a league game at Coppin State. Game time at the Coppin Center is slated for 7:30 pm.
