St. John's Cruises Past Howard
QUEENS, N.Y. - Sophomore guard Zykia Brown had a game-high 20 points as St. John's cruised past Howard, 66-36 in a non-conference women's basketball matchup Tuesday night at Carnesecca Arena.
Brown chipped in four steals and four rebounds against the Red Storm.
HU turned the ball over 19 times compared to 21 by the Red Storm and held St. John's to eight steals while picking up 11 of its own.
Senior Tamaya Daniels added six points and three blocks. Amanda Edwards and Charae Baulkman pulled down five rebounds apiece.
For the Red Storm, Monique McLean went 7-of-10 from the field and finished with 16 points. Kelly McManmon chipped in 14 points on 4-of-9 shooting from beyond the arc and Da'Shena Stevens added 12.
Howard (0-8) is back in action on Sunday, Dec. 21 when it hosts cross-town rival George Mason at 2pm.
