The Games
The Lady Bison open up play at the Hawk Holiday Classic Presented by Staybridge Suites and Hotels with a contest against host Monmouth. Howard will look to get started on the right foot before facing off with La Salle or Holy Cross on day two of the tournament.

Howard enters Tuesday's contest with a 3-6 mark. The Lady Bison fell to Central Michigan 88-60 in its last time out on Dec. 19. Junior Zykia Brown paced HU with a game-high 18 points while freshman Saadia Doyle added 16 points and eight rebounds.

Monmouth dropped a 70-54 decision to Columbia on Dec. 13. Alexis Canady led three Hawks in double-figure scoring with 16. Alysha Womack finished with 14 and Chanel Gomez chipped in 12.

La Salle fell to Villanova, 44-41 in its last contest on Dec. 22 while New Hampshire took down Holy Cross, 80-72 in its last time out on Dec. 20.

Ashley Gale's 19 points paced La Salle in the loss to the Villanova. Bethany O'Dell led Holy Cross with 20 points versus New Hampshire.

Scouting Monmouth
Monmouth is 3-6 with wins over Pacific, Davidson and Stony Brook. Alysha Womack is averaging a team-high 10.1 points per game while Erin Rooney and Abby Martin add 7.4 points per game. Martin is tops on the team with 8.3 rebounds per game.

The Hawks are coached by Stephanie Gaitley, who is in her second season at Monmouth. She has an 18-13 record at MU and a 425-246 mark overall in 23 years as a head coach.

Scouting La Salle/Holy Cross
The Explorers (3-8) are paced by Morgan Robertson, who averages 10.0 points per game. Jamie Walsh adds 8.1 ppg while Robertson is pulling down a team-high 6.8 rebounds per game. La Salle is coached by Tom Lochner, who is in his sixth season with the Explorers.

The Crusaders are 3-8 and are led by Bethany O'Dell (15.1 ppg), Whitney Fremeau (13.3 ppg) and Briana McFadden (12.9 ppg). Holy Cross is coached by Bill Gibbons, who is in his 25th year with the Crusaders.

Double Trouble
Freshman Saadia Doyle has posted double-doubles in six of nine games this season. The Atlanta, Ga. native is averaging 13.6 points and 10.8 rebounds per outing and was named the MEAC Rookie of the Week twice this season.

Twin Towers
Freshmen Nicole Deterville (6-1, F/C) and Portia Deterville (6-1, F/C) are the first set of twins to play under the Coach G era. Nicole and Portia join teammate Amanda Edwards (6-0, F) from Toronto, Canada and are mainstays in the Bison frontcourt.

The Bison return to action Jan. 5 with its final non-conference matchup of the season, a road game against Colgate. Game time against the Raiders is slated for 7 p.m. in Hamilton, N.Y.
