Saadia Doyle Earns Third MEAC Rookie of the Week Honor
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Freshman forward Saadia Doyle (Atlanta, Ga./Columbia H.S.) was named the MEAC Rookie of the Week for the third time this season, the conference announced today.
Doyle averaged 27 points and 11 rebounds to aid Howard to a 1-1 mark last week. She recorded a career-high 31 points and 14 rebounds in a win over Holy Cross and shot 68-percent from the field (19-of-28) and 94-percent (16-of-17) from the free-throw line during action at the Hawk Holiday Classic.
The Georgia native was named to the Hawk Holiday Classic All-Tournament team for her efforts.
Howard travels to Hamilton, N.Y. on Tuesday for a matchup against Colgate. Game time at the Cotterell Center is slated for 7 p.m.
