The Game
Howard enters Tuesday's contest with a 4-7 mark. The Lady Bison defeated Holy Cross in OT, 87-80 in the consolation game of the Hawk Holiday Classic on Dec. 30 while Colgate (5-8) dropped a 74-40 decision to Ohio in its last time out on Jan 2.

Reigning MEAC Rookie of the Week Saadia Doyle paced Howard with a career-high 31 points and 14 rebounds in the win over the Crusaders. Junior Zykia Brown added a season-high 29 points.

Sami Kozlowski had 13 points in the Raiders' loss to Ohio. Tricia Oakes added eight points and Lulu Brase led the team in rebounds with four.    

Scouting Colgate
Colgate is 5-8 with wins over Presbyterian, Rider, Alabama State, Wagner and Mount St. Mary's. Sami Kozlowski is averaging a team-high 11.7 points per game while Tricia Oakes adds 10.3 points per game. Krista Moser is tops on the team with 6.3 rebounds per game.

The Raiders are coached by Pamela Bass, who is in her third season at Colgate. She has a 6-54 record at CU and a 14-75 mark overall in four years as a head coach.

Last Time Out
Zykia Brown scored the game-tying 3-pointer at the end of regulation and Howard rallied from a 15-point deficit to defeat Holy Cross in overtime, 87-80 in the consolation game of the Hawk Holiday Classic presented by Staybridge Suites and Hotels.

The Lady Bison trailed by 15 with 10:09 remaining in the second half before a Brown layup spurred a 10-0 HU run over the next six minutes, trimming the lead to five with under four minutes left in regulation.    

Meredith Ward hit a trey for Holy Cross to push the Crusader advantage to eight with 3:58 remaining, but Howard chipped away at the lead on a pair of baskets by Saadia Doyle and a long 3-ball by Tamoria Holmes.

Holy Cross led by one with 17 seconds left but a Whitney Fremeau layup gave the Crusaders a three-point advantage with under 10 seconds remaining in regulation.

Down by three with six seconds left, Brown took a few dribbles and drained a 3-pointer with: 01 left to even the score at 72-72 and send the game to overtime.

The extra frame was all Howard and HU opened up a 10-point lead with under a minute left. Cheyenne Curley-Payne's (Chula Vista, Calif./Eastlake H.S.) free-throw with 49 seconds remaining capped an 11-3 Bison run and Howard never relinquished the lead for the seven-point come from behind win. 

Double Trouble
Freshman Saadia Doyle (5-11, F) has posted double-doubles in seven of 11 games this season. The Atlanta, Ga. native is averaging 16.0 points and 10.8 rebounds per outing and was named the MEAC Rookie of the Week three times this season.

Twin Towers
Freshmen Nicole Deterville (6-1, F/C) and Portia Deterville (6-1, F/C) are the first set of twins to play under the Coach G era. Nicole and Portia join teammate Amanda Edwards (6-0, F) from Toronto, Canada and are mainstays in the Bison frontcourt. 

Up Next
The Bison host Morgan State in its conference opener on Saturday, Jan. 9. Game time against the Bears is slated for 2 p.m. at Burr Gymnasium.
