The Game
Howard wraps up its regular season on Thursday with a pivotal contest against Hampton. The Lady Bison (15-12, 10-5 MEAC) defeated Maryland Eastern Shore, 62-57 on Feb. 27 while the Lady Pirates (16-11, 11-4 MEAC) took down Delaware State, 47-41 in its last time out on Saturday.

Zykia Brown paced Howard with 18 points in the win over UMES. Saadia Doyle had a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds while Cheyenne Curley-Payne added a career-high 15 points.

Melanie Warner (13 points) and Choicetta McMilliam (12 points) paced Hampton in the win over the DSU.

Scouting Hampton
Hampton is 16-11 (11-4 MEAC) and is tied for the second with Morgan State in the MEAC standings. Quanneishia Perry is averaging 12.8 points per game while Jerika Jenkins and Bernadette Fortune add 10.4 and 9.8 points per game, respectively. Whitney Hill (9.5 ppg) and Choicetta McMillian (6.7 ppg) round out the scoring for the Lady Pirates. Perry is tops on the team with 9.1 rebounds per game.

Hampton is coached by Interim Head Coach David Six, who is in his first season with the Lady Pirates.

Freshman Sensation
Freshman Saadia Doyle (5-11, F) has posted double-doubles in 18 of 26 games this season, a feat that puts her fifth in the NCAA rankings at press time. The Atlanta, Ga. native is averaging 17.0 points and 10.9 rebounds per outing and was named the MEAC Rookie of the Week eight times this season. A warrior on the boards, Doyle's 10.9 rebounds per game total ranks 15th highest in the NCAA. Her 22 rebounds vs. Coppin State is the ninth highest total in the NCAA this season. Doyle also ranks top-100 in the nation in field goal percentage (45.7 FG %, 92nd) and top-80 in points per game (17.0 ppg, T-71st). NCAA Stats updated thru Feb. 28.

Brown Nets 1,000 Points
Zykia Brown
joined the 1,000 club in the Bison's win over Norfolk State on Jan. 18. She was the 16th player in women's basketball history to accomplish that feat.

Weekly Honors
Zykia Brown was named the MEAC Player of the Week on Dec. 14 after posting 23 points and nine rebounds against George Mason. Saadia Doyle was named the MEAC Rookie of the Week eight times this season (Dec. 17, Dec. 21, Dec. 30, Jan. 25, Feb. 1, Feb. 15, Feb. 22 and March 1). Doyle was named the Heritage Sports Radio Network's National Player of the Week on Feb. 3.

Curley-Payne Heats Up
Freshman guard Cheyenne Curley-Payne has been getting quality minutes despite playing with an ankle injury. The California native averages 4.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.7 steals per game. She ranks 10th in the MEAC in assists per game and 11th in the league in steals per game.

Twin Towers
Freshmen Nicole Deterville (6-1, F/C) and Portia Deterville (6-1, F/C) are the first set of twins to play under the Coach G era. Nicole and Portia join teammate Amanda Edwards (6-0, F) from Toronto, Canada and are mainstays in the Bison frontcourt. 

On Deck
Howard will await its seeding for the MEAC Tournament on March 8-13 in Winston-Salem, N.C.
