STORRS, CT – The Howard women's basketball team dropped a 86-25 decision to the Univ. of Connecticut (4-0) in its first game of the World Vision Challenge on Fri. Nov. 26. With the loss, the Lady Bison drop to 2-4 on the season. HU is back in action on Sat. Nov. 26 when it faces LSU (3-3) beginning at 5 p.m.
The Lady Bison struggled to get things going on the offensive end as they were held to just under 20 percent shooting (9-for-46). Jerelle Gorham had two three-pointers off the bench to lead all Howard scorers with six points. Tamoria Holmes and Julee' O'Neal chipped in with five. Saadia Doyle pulled down a team-high five rebounds.
For UConn, Maya Moore had a game-best 20 points and eight boards. Bria Hartley finished with 16 points, while Stefanie Dolson had 13 points.
The Lady Bison are back in action on Sat. Nov. 27 against LSU. The game is slated for 5 p.m.
