Howard Picked Third; Doyle Named To MEAC First Team

The Howard University women's basketball team has been picked to finish third in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference by the conference coaches and sports information directors.  The Lady Bison finished a surprising fourth last season with a team dominated by freshmen.

The conference also announced that Saadia Doyle has been named to the 2010-11 MEAC pre-season first team.

The 5-11 red-shirt sophomore was voted the 2009-10 conference rookie of the year after having a phenomenal season.  The power forward from Atlanta, GA, averaged a double-double on the season and ranked the tops in the nation in double-doubles during the season.

Doyle proved to be one of the more dominant players in the country, ranking fifth in the conference in scoring at and second in rebounding with.  She led the team in scoring with
