HOWARD WOMEN’S BASKETBALL SQUAD PICKED 12TH IN PRESEASON POLL

WASHINGTON, D.C. (www.howard-bison.com) – With the tip-off to the 2012-13 women's basketball season under a month away, and numerous preseason polls and rankings being published for major conferences (BCS conferences).  "Full Court," the leading women's basketball website took the time to rank mid-major conference teams and the Howard University women's basketball team made the list.

Among 340 mid-major Division I institutions in the country, the Lady Bison ranked 12th above Richmond (Atlantic 10), Harvard (Ivy) and Central Michigan (Mid-American) on the preseason list.

Howard returns all five starters from the 2011-12 season and a unit that posted a school-record of 24-9.  Of those eight seniors and five starters are the two top student-athletes in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference and All-Americans: Saadia Doyle and Tamoria Holmes.
