The Howard University women’s basketball team was recently ranked No. 2 in the nation in the Boxtorow Division-I Top 5 Women's HBCU Basketball Poll. Lady Bison Drop 59-56 Overtime Decision to UVA in WNIT
Charlottesville, Va. – The Howard women’s basketball team dropped a 59-56 decision to the Univ. of Virginia in first round action of the WNIT. The Lady Bison will end the 2011-12 campaign with a 24-9 mark – tying the program’s record for most wins in a single season. The game also marks the first post-season bid for HU since 2001.

Saadia Doyle has been named MEAC Player of the Week for the second-straight time. The Atlanta, Ga. native recorded a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds in a win against Buffalo last week. Doyle hit 53-percent from the floor (9-of-17) and 88-percent (7-of-8) from the free-throw line. She added two steals and one assist in the victory.

Howard Announces 2009-10 Women's Basketball Recruiting Class
The Howard women's basketball team has announced the signings of eight recruits for the 2009-10 season. Cheyenne Curley-Payne, Kara Smith, Cabria Johnson, Jerelle Gorham, Tomaria Holmes, Julee O’Neal, Portia Deterville and Nicole Deterville form the talented class of freshmen that will join the Lady Bison on the hardwood.
