Charlottesville, Va. – The Howard women’s basketball team dropped a 59-56 decision to the Univ. of Virginia in first round action of the WNIT. The Lady Bison will end the 2011-12 campaign with a 24-9 mark – tying the program’s record for most wins in a single season. The game also marks the first post-season bid for HU since 2001.

Doyle hit 53-percent from the floor (9-of-17) and 88-percent (7-of-8) from the free-throw line. She added two steals and one assist in the victory.

After much negotiation, the Howard University Athletic Department has teamed up with one of the world’s most prominent fast-food hamburger chains. In the first of many initiatives to come, various Howard athletic teams were invited to meet their sponsors. Howard Announces 2009-10 Women's Basketball Recruiting Class
The Howard women's basketball team has announced the signings of eight recruits for the 2009-10 season. Cheyenne Curley-Payne, Kara Smith, Cabria Johnson, Jerelle Gorham, Tomaria Holmes, Julee O’Neal, Portia Deterville and Nicole Deterville form the talented class of freshmen that will join the Lady Bison on the hardwood.
