PERRY HALL, MD. - Howard defeated Coppin State and North Carolina Central in head to head play, and Grambling in the baker games at the Morgan State Invitational on Feb. 16-17 in Perry Hall, Md.
Shayla Haynes led the way for the Lady Bison on day one with a team-high pinfall of 944. She knocked down 213 pins in game one and averaged 188.8 pins in five games. Marcia Smith totaled 925 pins and averaged 185 pins while knocking down 205 in her second game and Brianna Uzzell totaled 885 pins with a 177 average.
HU went 2-3 on day one, defeating CSU 827-598 and NCCU 846-638 but falling in decisions to Delaware State (910-830), Southern (920-809) and Farleigh Dickinson (1038-893).
The Lady Bison took down Grambling 704-691 in the baker results on day two but dropped contests to Central Missouri (756-624), Md. Eastern Shore (844-615), Sacred Heart (748-668) and South Carolina State (625-517).
